Membership Eligibility

Any person who is 18 years of age or over and a resident of Queensland is eligible to apply for membership of Bayside Community Options Inc. 



All membership applications are presented to the Board for approval or rejection and applicants are advised in writing of the Board‘s decision.  The membership fee must accompany the Application for Membership.

Employees or contractors of Bayside Community Options Inc. are only eligible to become Associate members and therefore not entitled to vote or become a member of the Board.

Membership Fee          

$10.00 (discounted to $5 for participants in BCO services and programs). The membership year is from 1 July to 30 June and membership renewal, upon receipt of invoice, is due by 31 July each year.

For your membership fee you will receive:

  • our quarterly newsletter The Bugle

  • two free tickets in an annual members only raffle eg small fire extintuisher and fire blanket for home

  • One free ticket in prizes at our Annual General Meeting

  • an invitation to lunch and our Annual General Meeting

  • An invitation to our Annual General Meeting

  • invitations to have input into other community conversations and gatherings

  • And, most importantly, your fees contribute to BCO - a community organisation responding to local community needs
Member Responsibilities

Members are reasonably expected to:

  • Attend General Meetings and participate on sub-committees/working groups.

  • Promote Bayside Community Options Inc. in a positive manner.

  • Bring to the attention of the Board any matters which may impact on the organisation’s objectives and/or activities.

If you interested in becoming a member of the Board you can complete an expression of interest at the time of your application for membership for consideration by the Board.                                 

Meetings

The Board meets each month.

General Meetings (for all members) are held at such intervals as to provide members with timely information and to provide for voting responsibilities on any matters arising.

Sub-committees/working groups may be established as required for specific objectives and projects.
